Museum Place Master Plan

Museum Place envisioned over 300 units of mixed-income rental housing, 200-250 market rate condominiums, a new and expanded Safeway grocery store, a completely renovated YWCA, neighborhood retail, public open space and parking accommodations. In addition to providing a variety of housing and employment opportunities, Museum Place offers an exciting environment in which to live, shop, dine and partake in community and recreational activities.

As planned, Museum Place serves as a center of activity for the West End neighborhood and a catalyst for revitalization of the area. The development features the first LEED Certified mixed use building in the nation. Residents and visitors can also enjoy outdoor spaces surrounding the historic elm tree and a new Madison Street pedestrian area.

After the buildout of the master plan was completed in 2006, Museum Place added nearly 300 mixed-income rental units, 224 residential condominiums, 135,000 square feet of leasable commercial space and 13,000 square feet of office condos to the district.
