GBD evaluated development opportunities and created a master plan for 57 acres of the Triangle, a site located in west Sacramento, California. The vision includes a mix of uses: retail, office, residential, and parking, and a potential civic destination overlooking the river.
The master plan places low-rise residential around public parks, mid-rise residential along the river, and high-rise development along the freeway. This “bowl” provides much of the high-rise, commercial parcels with views over the development to the Sacramento River. The project will incorporate ecoroofs to reduce the urban heat island effect, and to filter and reduce the quantity of stormwater. Within the 27-block master plan, there is potential for approximately 375,000 sq. feet of retail, 2.9 million sq. feet of office, 2,500 housing units and 10,300 parking stalls.
GBD completed the Triangle master plan in January 2007.
