Designed and built in the early 1970s, this 400,000 sq. foot, 19-story office complex was one of the first major projects completed by GBD. More than ever, it serves as the focal point of the South Auditorium Urban Renewal Area, reflecting and enhancing the growing number of buildings and activities around it. Today, it remains one of Portland’s most prestigious business addresses, with its innovative glare-reducing window wall, mature landscaped garden terraces, successful retail space, and 500 below-grade parking spaces.
In 2006, the current owners of 200 Market completed LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Gold certification. This goal was achieved by demonstrating energy savings, water conservation, low-toxin cleaners for janitorial use and strict tenant improvement specifications.
